On July 1, 2005, I officially took office as the Ward "E" Councilman. The Council office is
already abuzz as it has been for most of the last month. I am attending every community
group meeting possible, our office has received great press coverage across the board
including a large article in the New York Times, and I am working hard towards implementing
a responsive and results oriented team.
Once again I would like to thank those that have supported me over the last eight months and
those that stand by me as we look to the next four years. July 1st was a milestone in my life
as it marks the beginning of my political public service with the swearing in ceremony. I am
honored and proud to serve as the voice of the people of Downtown Jersey City.
Many of you have brought your concerns to my attention and I would like acknowledge that
these issues are being looked in to, from streetlamps to dog runs, from abatements to street
fairs, and that I will follow up and follow through with you as the resolutions become clear.
So as the City Council meetings begin with some old faces and some new, so does the restoration
of faith in a fair and honest government where the needs of its constituents come first. I offer to you
once again my contact information with the hope that if you or anyone you know needs support, information
or a sounding board from your local government, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Thank you again for your support and you will be hearing from me soon.
Sincerely,
Councilman Steven Fulop
